The family spent five days at the Honeyman State Park over Spring Break. Our goal was to ride the dunes and we did.

Girls Day Out
The guys took off for the sand this weekend, so we decided to spend some "girls time" shopping and hanging out. The weather was beautiful. We had a great time, and ended the day with a little snack.
What can I say, we're not good at getting someone to take a photo of all of us! :)

Newport Seafood and Wine Festival
This past weekend was the 35th Seafood and Wine Festival in Newport. We've gone for several years now, and it's fun. I enjoyed getting out of town for a couple days, and there are worse things to do than eat Mo's chowder, Rogue Ales fish & chips, and drink wine. Of course, we experienced typical Oregon Coast weather. It rained off and on, and the sun finally came out as we headed home on Sunday.

Still, Still Healing
My foot, that is. I had an x-ray last week and it shows the break is healing. It's just not completely healed. I'm happy to be done with the crutches, but I'm still really bummed about not being back to full speed and agility. It's frustrating!
I did make it to yoga this week. It's a challenge with my inability to fully use my foot, but it felt good to move again. These last few weeks of inactivity have not been good. Unfortunately, yoga was not the experience I was hoping for. My favorite teachers is gone. Sometime in the last two months she has moved on, but I don't know where. Tonight's class was good, but I was really looking forward to seeing Erica.

Birthday Weekend
Yep. I had a birthday last week.
Birthday day is one of those days when middle schoolers can be unbelievably sweet. One my seventh graders made me cupcakes, and another brought me a little present. Then I got a couple of handmade cards. My eighth graders sand horribly off-key renditions of "Happy Birthday" and by the end of the day I was ready for a bit of piece and quiet.
On Saturday, I headed up to Portland to hang with my HS bestie. She made yummy soup and polenta fries for dinner. We killed a couple bottles of wine and spent the evening just hanging out. It's always great to hang with friends when you don't have much time to do that.
Sunday was the family celebration. Coffee (Pepsi in my case) and pastries with the parents at Panera, then mom made my favorite dinner of fried elk steak, potatoes and gravy for dinner. My sister and her entire family came. And for dessert we had homemade apple pie and ice cream.
It was a good birthday weekend. :)

Still Healing
My Jones fracture is improving. The doctor says I can now begin the process of bearing weight on my foot. I was a bit disappointed. I really, really wanted to ditch the crutches, but since this fracture often requires surgery, I'm resigned to following doctor's order for a couple more weeks.
